A Kwara-based activist, writer and lecturer, Itan Ayobami Idowu has appealed to Nigerians to be calm and collected in the face of dual-crisis Naira and fuel scarcities.
Itan, who is also convener of ParticipateNow, took to his social media platforms on Thursday and wrote: “the prevailing and pre-failing herd mentality and sheer ignorance of having to wreck properties under the guise of fighting for our right will do the masses more harm than good. It is quite insane and sadly that the masses who are victims of poor decision of the obdurate leaders of this nation aren’t learning from the past.
“They are failing to exhibit totality of civility in expressing their grieves on issues affecting their wellbeing.
“Looting fellow masses’ properties, destroying Point of Sale (PoS) stands, burning banks and exploiting the ATM will not solve the problem but rather render our common humanity in jeopardy and hardship.
“I hope we all know that we can’t use wrong technique to win a right fight?”
