Ahead of the February 25 general elections, it is essential to unequivocally state that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has no candidate for 2 out of 6 Federal Constituencies in Kwara State. The affected Constituencies are:
1. Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency.
2.Irepodun, Isin, Ekiti and Oke Ero Federal Constituency.
(The six Federal Constituencies in Kwara State are Baruten/Kaiama, Edu/Moro/Patigi, Ekiti/Isin/Irepodun/Oke-ero, Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun, Ilorin East/Ilorin South and Ilorin West/Asa)
The APC candidates for the two constituencies are still in court.
As at yesterday (Monday), the duo of Honorable Raheem Tunji Olawuyi Ajuloopin and Engineer Cornelius O. Adebayo presented themselves as appellant and cross-appellant respectively. Their case was struck out based on the fact that the duo do not have locus standi to partake in the elections as the Court of Appeal earlier failed to declare either Honorable Raheem Tunji Olawuyi Ajuloopin and Engr CO Adebayo as the valid candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
On Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency, Honourables Ismail Tijani and Tajudeen Abioye are also in court. The two are from Erin-Ile in Oyun local government area of Kwara State.
As it is now, all hands are deck as to what the party is up to and efforts to quench the intra-party crisis.
