Amina Guguwa, a 50-year-old housewife, was arrested by members of the Bauchi State Police Command for reportedly killing a 60-year-old rival wife, Amina Koli, by strangulation.
SP Ahmad Mohammed Wakil, the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, or PPRO, told reporters that the event occurred in Miya Village in the state’s Ganjuwa Local Government Area on January 1, 2023, and that it was the result of a physical altercation between the two women. Wakil claimed that after learning of the incident and being dispatched to the location, a team of detectives transported the victim to the General Hospital in Ganjuwa for a post-mortem.
He explained: “She was certified dead by a medical doctor. The investigation is in progress, after which the suspect will be charged to court for prosecution.”
