In a conflict between Yoruba Nation agitators and the police on Monday in the Ojota neighborhood of Lagos State, a male adult who has not yet been recognized was slain.

The unidentified person’s death was confirmed by Benjamin Hundeyin, the police spokesperson in Lagos.

In the midst of the chaos that began on Monday morning, commuters fled for safety.

According to reports, several agitators showed up to demand, among other things, the Yoruba Nation, and when the police showed out to restrain them, a fight broke out. The men of the Lagos State Police Command emerged in procession shortly after they began patrolling the streets, accompanied by a group of members of the Rapid Response Squad, the State Taskforce, and regular divisional officers.

Security operatives arrived at the scene and shot teargas to disperse the crowd.

A police van was reportedly burnt in the ensuing outrage.
