The Kebbi State Government has stated it’s determination to ensure that Corps Members are adequately protected throughout their service year.

The Kebbi State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku Bagudu stated this during the Swearing-in Ceremony of the Prospective Corps Members deployed to the State held at the NYSC Kebbi State Orientation Camp in Dakingari.

While declaring the 2023 Batch ‘A’ Stream One Orientation Course open in his address, which was read by the Deputy Governor, Col Samaila Yome Fabai (rtd), Governor Bagudu urged the Corps Members to be law-abiding citizens and partner with Kebbi State to create a secured environment.

“We will continue to do everything possible to see to your general welfare and well-being,” the Governor said.

He urged the Corps Members to take every segment of the Orientation Course serious and utilize the benefits of all camp lectures as they will enhance their performances to impact positively on their host communities.

In her welcome address, the NYSC Kebbi State Coordinator, Mrs Okolo Aghata Banki disclosed that a total of 478 Prospective Corps Members comprising of 279 males and 199 females have been registered before the commencement of the swearing-in ceremony.

She added that the PCMs were all outstanding in their response to training, having quickly acclimatized to camp environment with it’s activities.

The Acting Director General of NYSC, Mrs Christy Ifeyinwa Uba who witnessed the swearing-in ceremony in Kebbi, while addressing the Corps Members after the ceremony charged them to rededicate themselves to the service of the father land.

Uba also informed them of the appointment of a substantive Director General for the Scheme by the Federal Government.

She urged the Corps Members alongside the Camp officials to continue to accord the new Director General maximum support in the discharge of his assignments as the 22nd Chief Executive of NYSC.

The Chief Judge of Kebbi State, Justice Umar Hukuma represented by Justice Hassan Shehu Kuwa administered the Oath of Allegiance during the ceremony.
