Afe Babalola, a legal luminary, has expressed his confident that the results of the presidential election in February may not reflect the will of the people but rather those who have a lot of money to spend.
At a news conference on Thursday, Babalola predicted that the largest spender, not the finest candidate, would win the upcoming election.
The judicial authority voiced concern that the results of the general elections in 2023 could not be in the favor of common Nigerians.
He said, “It is not who can make a difference that will win this election, I repeat, it is not the person who has all it takes – age, health, education, and patriotism, that will win the election; the winner of this election I can bet it, is going to be the person who has made money in this country.
“It is the person who has the money that will win”.
According to him, the endorsement of the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi by former president, Olusegun Obasanjo may not yield much results like what other candidates would do with their money.
