Final Funeral Thanksgiving Service for Mama Modupeoluwa Kehinde Adeniran was on Saturday, January 7, 2023 held at Immanuel Baptist Church, Oyo, Oyo State.
The Service also coincident with her one year anniversary as Mrs. Adeniran died on Saturday, January 7, 2022 at 120 years old.
Speaking during event, Rev. S. O. Oyinlola enjoined all and sundry to make it a point of responsibility to take care of their parents at old ages. He said taking proper care of one’s parents when they age is one of the keys to attract God’s favour and mercy.
He warned children to desist from organizing parties while neglecting the parent to suffer at old ages.
Reverend Oyinlola thereafter acknowledged that the children of Mama Adeniran did not desist from taking good care of her and made a priority when she lived.
Mr. Adeniran Joseph stated that: “Mama spent a meaningful life and we are happy to celebrate her today.
“I miss her a lot because she’s a good and caring mother till the point of death.”
Mr. Adewole Adeniran also described her as a generous mother of all.
He also described Mama as one of the best entrepreneurs of her time.
Adeniran Rachel, one of the granddaughters of Mama Modupeoluwa while addressing journalists said: “my grandmother was a very caring mother that loved her grandchildren so dearly. She’s a good woman that showed love to everyone irrespective of their disability.
“Am proud to be her granddaughter because everything about her was so perfect.”
Mama’s biography, according to Mr Enoch Adeniran who read it on behalf of the family said: “Mama Modupeoluwa Kehinde Amope was born as twins to the family of Pa Fagbenro Fadeyi and Ma Fageebo Agbeke in early 1905.
“The reign of Alaafin Lawan Amubieya Agogo-ija (1905-1911) made it easy to calculate mama’s age, as it was said that Mama was born before the reign of Alaafin Agogo-ija in 1905.
“Mama was not opportune to go to school but was very intelligent and proficient in human relations.
“Mama got married to Pa Abraham Aweda Adeniran in 1928, during the reign of Alaafin Siyanbola Ladigbolu-1 (1911-1944).
“She was a veteran trader in all major markets across Oyo State and well recognized in the Gbagi atijo market, Oke-Mapo market, Alekuso market, Orita-Merin market, Ayeye market, Beere and Bodija market.
“While talking about her Spiritual life, was described scribed as a devoted Christian who was very active in every church activity during her lifetime.
“Mama was baptized at Aatan Baptist Church, Koso, Isale Oyo in 1980 and she later converted her husband to Christianity one year after.
“Mama was very active throughout her lifetime in Christ before she rested on the Lord on the 7th of January 2021 and left successful children and great-grandchildren behind”.
