A car rammed into a gathering of friends at a party, resulting in no less than five fatalities in the Oyo neighborhood.
The incident also resulted in the injury of about four additional people, all to varying degrees.
Early on January 1st of this year, in Akinmorin Town, AFIJIO Local Government Area, Oyo State, the incident took place.
In all, roughly ten (10) people were reported to have been struck by the automobile.
Four more people suffered critical injuries, and five people reportedly died as a result of the tragedy.
At the Baba Ode neighborhood in Akinmorin, a new year’s open celebration was being held, and the victims were among those attending.
The incident was confirmed by Adewale Osifeso, Public Relations Officer for the State police command.
He said an investigation had commenced into the matter.
