Kwara state is home to over 3 million persons and and is recorded as one of the least densely populated in the country. Kwara state has a total of sixteen (16) Local Government Areas (LGAs); there are three (3) senatorial districts in Kwara State namely: Kwara North, Kwara Central and Kwara South.

Kwara South District covers seven local government areas which includes Ekiti, Oke-Oro, Offa, Ifelodun, Irepodun, Isin, and Oyun.

Leadership is a necessary factor in every sphere of life especially at the political level where decisions and actions affect the entire members of a nation.

Bad leadership is one of the principality of exacerbating underdevelopment. The present political situation in Kwara South is fractured owing to a lot of factors and ranging from high rate of unemployment, increased level of absolute poverty, low level of social and political consciousness, increase in illiteracy rate, poor health services, to mention but a few.

At this point, the most germane question to be asked is what impact has leadership had on the development of the KWARA SOUTH?

Now it’s the politicking season again, an important period in the life of our dear nation. Today, we are seeing politicians covertly, overtly and systematically campaigning across. It takes the aftermath of the elections to realise that the impact of bad leadership is not selective.

Thus, it is time for the people of kwara south to take the proverbial bull by its horns. They can vote for those who focus on creating opportunity for youths, provide basic amenities, infrastructural development healthcare services but also pay attention to their records.
