Only 10,692 of the 15,931 electrical projects in the nation are certified as outstanding and standardized, according to the Federal Government through the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency, or NEMSA.
On Sunday, Aliyu Tahir, the managing director of NEMSA, told the Daily Post this.
According to Tahir, the inspection and certification process is necessary to reduce the risks connected with the misuse of power, which can lead to accidents, fatalities, and equipment damage.
According to him, the agency has monitored 12,114 power systems nationwide.
He said, “Inspection of over 15,931 electricity projects nationwide, out of which 10,692 have been certified fit for use by NEMSA.”
He added that NEMSA has inspected over 3,255 electrical installations at factories and hazardous buildings.
