In connection with the murder of a 13-year-old pregnant girl, men from the Akwa Ibom State Command have detained one Sunday Sampson.
Sampson was detained by the police in the Nsit Ubium division for being the father of the 13-year-old girl who passed away after he surreptitiously arranged an abortion for her.
This was included in a statement released on Thursday by the command’s spokesperson, Odiko Macdon.
He said that, “One Sunday George Sampson was arrested by the Nsit Ubium Division of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command. The suspect impregnated a 13-year-old girl child and secretly procured an abortion for her and she died in the process.”
Odiko said the matter has been transfered to the homicide section for further investigations, even as he said the Commissioner has urged parents to monitor their wards to avoid any form of sexual abuse.
