Two Pakistani businessmen were detained by agents of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at Lagos’ Murtala Muhammed International Airport.

On November 5, they were apprehended while attempting to board a Qatar Airways flight to Lahole, Pakistan through Doha with 8 kilograms of cocaine hidden in a public address system (sound speaker).

Asif Muhammed, 45, and Hussain Naveed, 57, the two suspects, frequently travel to Nigeria pretending to conduct textile business. They are believed to have fake residence permits from Nigeria.

The suspects were detained just one week after arriving in Nigeria, on Sunday, October 30, according to NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi, in a statement on Sunday, November 6.
