Festus Keyamo, SAN, the spokesman for the Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, claims that the opposition is frustrated by the claim in the document that Bola Ahmed Tinubu was charged with drug trafficking and money laundering in the United States.
Keyamo responded to the allegation on Wednesday via his verified Twitter account, saying those making it were chasing a losing cause.
“Sign of frustration: They are seeking to wake a horse long dead and buried and for which a media house publicly apologised in 2016 when they tried to use the story”, he said.
On Tuesday, a document from a previous ruling made a comeback in the media, claiming that Tinubu had been charged with narcotics trafficking and money laundering by the Northern District of Illinois of the United States District Court.
However in July this year, David Hundeyin had in an article titled, “Bola Ahmed Tinubu: From Drug Lord To Presidential Candidate”, made a similar accusation. Additionally, the same accusation was made public in the media in the final days of the 2015 elections.
