Ikira Aliyu Bilbis, a former minister of information and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial candidate for Zamfara Central, is reportedly among those who have been detained by police in Zamfara State.
On Tuesday, November 29, 2022, early in the morning, Gusau, the state capital, is claimed to have been the location of Bilbis’ arrest.
Alhaji Muhammad Abdullahi Zangina, the state secretary of the PDP, confirmed the arrest and noted that it might not be unrelated to the ruling party, the APC, accusing the PDP of vandalizing its billboards and other properties during the reception rally in honor of Dr. Dauda Lawal Dare.
He claims that a group of PDP attorneys has since visited the police headquarters in Gusau, where he has been determined to learn the status of the investigation and the next steps.
However, the Daily Post’s attempts to reach S P Mohammed Shehu, the state police’s spokesperson, for comments were unsuccessful because he did not return his calls.
