Youths of Kwara Central Senatorial District, under the aegis of ‘Oloriegbe Youths’ have applauded Dr Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe for empowering the Constituents to the tune of 450 Million.

Oloriegbe, who is the Senator representing Kwara Central at the National Assembly, distributed poverty alleviation equipment to 625 people which cost a whooping sum of 450 million Naira at the 2022 Zonal Intervention and Capital Projects he facilitated on Saturday.

Some of the items given outs were cars, tricycles, motorbikes, artisan tools, laptops, and farm implements amongst others.

According to the chairman of Oloriegbe Youths, Mr Zakariyah Oloriegbe, Senator Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe is a very insightful leader and philanthropist who is concerned about poverty alleviation in his community.

Zakariyah Oloriegbe said “In order to ensure that the young people of Kwara Central are empowered for the growth of the state, our distinguished Senator’s empowerment programmes intentionally targeted three facets of society: agriculture, vocational skills, and information technology.

“This programme, like many others, aims to end poverty and give our young people in Kwara Central access to economic security.

“Since the restoration of this democracy, Senator Oloriegbe has made it a tradition of his politics to enable people to get job, whether directly or indirectly.

Zakariyah Oloriegbe said the purpose is to encourage self-reliance as well as to eradicate poverty and unemployment and boost the macro economy of the state.

He also confirmed that the programme is a part of the senator’s constituency project, who “has been doing so many things, including building schools, mosques, hospitals, providing buses, ambulance and executing rural electrification projects.”

Zakariyah Oloriegbe expressed Senator Oloriegbe’s worry over the increasing rate of youth unemployment in the state, with its attendant consequences on the society.
