Lecturers of the Osun State College of Education, Ilesa (now University of Ilesa) have protested over the Public Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement for the University.
The lecturers who protested armed with placards on Monday stated that their grievance with the Osun State Government is that they are not in tandem with the idea of community and government ownership of the university (PPP).
Also, they alleged that the activities of the implementation committee are not transparent.
Some eminent personalities in Ijesha land have been agitating for the University which prompted the administration of Adegboyega Oyetola to convert the state-owned Osun State College of Education, Ilesa to a university.
The State Commissioner for Education, Folorunsho Oladoyin in his response directed this reporter to the Chairman of the University of Ilesa Implementation Committee.
“No comment. Direct your questions to the chairman of the University of Ilesa implementation committee, Prof Olu Aina. Thank you,” he remarked.
