Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, said that the summer acquisition of Casemiro had improved the team’s poise and organization.

Ten Hag made this comment on Casemiro after the midfielder’s performance in Man United’s Premier League match against Chelsea on Saturday ended in a 1-1 tie.

In the 94th minute at Stamford Bridge, Casemiro rose to nod past Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga for his first goal for Man United after joining the club for £70 million from Real Madrid in the summer.

The Brazilian international has started each of Man United’s previous six games, and in the victories over Everton and Tottenham Hotspur as well as the tie with Chelsea, his impact was particularly noticeable.
Speaking at his post-match press conference after the game, Ten Hag said: “That is why we brought him in.

“We know he is capable of doing that, he proved it in Spain, he proved it in the Champions League, so the highest level.

“So he could also do it in the Premier League. But it is clear that the Premier League is a different league, especially with the intensity, so he needed a short period to adapt to that.

“And now, from game to game, you see him growing and how important it is for our game. He brings composure, he brings the organisation and he even scores a goal and then you bring a lot to the team.”
