The Niger Delta Development Commission’s (NDDC) only administrator, Effiong Akwa, has been fired by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The NDDC leader was fired without explanation; he or she was appointed in October.
The President also announced the formation of a new management group and Governing Board of the NDDC in a statement by Patricia Deworitshe, Director of Press for the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs.
The announcement of the Board nominees will come later, according the statement.
