Lt. Gen. Theophilus Danjuma (ret. ), a former minister of defense, has claimed that the goal of bandits is to recolonize Nigerians.
He threatened that if the bandits terrorizing the country are not eliminated, it will be reduced to nothing.
On Saturday, Danjuma spoke in Wukari at the coronation of a new ruler.
According to him: “Our country is under siege by armed bandits.“
The first denial of what I said came from the ministry of defense when I forewarned a few years ago that the military forces are either unable or unwilling to protect us and that we must defend ourselves.
“They said I was lying and they set up a kangaroo board of inquiry to investigate the truth or otherwise of what I said.“
I was given the opportunity to attend and testify, but I declined. They claimed in their report that there was no evidence and that I was merely speculating. However, there is now proof.
“The whole country now is being overrun and one very clear thing that is happening now is that these foreign invaders are destroying everything and our government allowed them to come into the country.
