Olarewaju Omiyinka James, alias Baba Ijesha, a convicted actor who is a prisoner in the Nigerian Correctional Service facility in Kirikiri, may be serving time for a heinous act of child molestation, but among his fellow prisoners he has gained notoriety.
According to reports, Baba Ijesha recently killed a snake at the institution using only his bare hands. Alaroye claims that the Nollywood actor killed a large snake by slamming it to the ground after seizing it from under a generator adjacent to the Chief Warder’s office.
The event happened last week as Baba Ijesha was traveling to the facility’s clinic to receive medical care. He spotted other prisoners racing around the premises and wondered what was causing the chaos.
He was informed by others there that they were trying to kill a large snake because they were attempting to approach it while holding sticks, iron rods, and stones.
He quickly moved to the generator where the snake was hiding, shifted it, grabbed up the snake with speed, swerved it hard, and slammed it to the ground, killing it.
The prisoners praised his bravery and continued to brag to their fellow detainees about how he managed to kill a large snake without resorting to violence.
Baba Ijesha was found guilty of child molesting and given a 16-year prison term.
