I have heard about death of myriad, far and near, relatives, neighbors, and friends, of course, we are all created to die. Death is inevitable. All living souls shall taste death.
Out of many notable Islamic scholars that have died, Sheik Abdulganiy Aboto’s death has created deep psychological trauma for me because am heavily engrossed with his sermons more than any other Islamic sermons I have ever come across. I have listened to Sheik Aboto’s sermons more than any other sermons by other Muslim clerics. I cannot do without surfing for his latest sermons on YouTube. Whenever am depressed, I listen to his sermon and anytime am lost, I do recall myself with his sermons. His sermons have been my morning dose and late-night pills. His sermons have been my refreshments at the workplace. His sermons are devoid of comedy, taunts, and praise singing of worldly things. He says it as it is at all times.
Anyone who really wants to listen to the word of Allah from the Holy Quran should listen to sheik Aboto’s sermons. He was a redeemer of heart from shirk, worldly things, rituals, Zina, alcohol, and a wayward lifestyle. His sermons about death, the graveyard, and judgment day remain expository and valid. He handled topics perfectly in line with what Allah says in the Holy Quran. He was a replica of his Alfa, Sheik Kamaldeen through his dawah that was full of hikmah.
Sheik Aboto throughout his life never throws banter to any Alfa on social media. He never gives glory to money ritual soaps and never fans the ember of discord among Muslims. He never condemns any Islamic group. He was a pure and kindhearted Alfa who never embrace material things. His words and deeds are worthy of emulation with his histiqomah.
Sheik Aboto’s simple lifestyle was obvious in his preachings, a reserved scholar who memorized the Holy Quran. His gesticulation during preaching demystifies his deep-rooted knowledge of the Holy Quran. His knowledge was dignified with refined respect for others.
His death, without any doubt, is a certification of being among the haoliyahi promised Jannat by Allah Azah-wajalah. He had gone to meet his Alfa, Sheik Kamaldeen Al-adabiy. Sheik Aboto’s death is a great loss to the Kwara State Muslim community, South West region Muslim community and Muslim Hummah. Who will fill this vacuum? Will there ever be a sermon of his kind with reserved and calm preachings? We have lost a great scholar in Islam. May Almighty Allah forgive all his sins, that of his students who died in the same accident. May God grant them Aljanat Fridaus. Ameen.
