Students here present
Ladies and Gentlemen.
All praises are due to Almighty God for making today possible for us to witness the reunion after 35 years of leaving our alma mater – Offa Grammar School, Offa. We are indeed very grateful.
It is a privilege to stand here today to address the house.
OGSOSA Class 87 set is a class that has produced professionals in different fields of facet of life. We appreciate the effort of our principal and our teachers for making sure that we had a solid foundation that prepared us for the challenges of life to success. On behalf of the class I thank you sirs and mas. To our teachers that have passed away I pray God to give them eternal rest.
My Classmates!! Kindly join me in thanking God for the journey so far. 35 years is not a small journey in life. During the period some of us (about 30 in number) have passed away to the World after death. May their souls rest in perfect peace. Those of us on sick bed we pray God restores good health back to them.
For those of us who are alive today let us ask ourselves of the impact we have on our classmates and the school (our alma mater). This is a serious challenge to all of us. I therefore employ us to hands with those who have been in the mode of promoting classmate welfare so that every one of us can continue to live a better life.
We should all remember that the importance of this Class 87 is to key into the vision of the National body of Offa Grammar School Old Students Association(OGSOSA).
OGSOSA 87 SET seek among other things to:
Maintain the ethical and moral standards of its alma mater
Form an alliance with the teaching staff to maintain high educational standard.
Invest in the educational progress of their alma mater through provision of infrastructure, facilities and instructional materials.
Partner with the management and the National body to meet the general needs of the School.
Participate in meaningful ventures that will possibly contribute towards national development and finally
Develop and maintain business contact and create job opportunities for members.
At this juncture, it is imperative to inform us that most people ruling us in Nigeria were from the alma-mater association, hence our class of 87set should not be left out.
TEAM work (Togetherness Everybody Achieves More) is a result of what we are seeing today.
As our teachers taught us in our secondary day that “The more we are together together together 2x the happier we shall be”
Thence, we should not relent our effort for further re-union and support to members.
We basically believe that we have achieved a good legacy from the school. The present crops of students will also continue to benefit from us as we benefited from the benevolence of our seniors.
On behalf of Local Organising Committee (LOC) we thank you all for the support and look forward to you to attend all other programmes we have for the 35th year of graduation anniversary.
