Following Oba Babatunde Saliu’s ceremonial coronation, Lagos Governor Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu and Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, joined in the celebrations.

The Ooni of Ife addressed the distinguished audience in Yoruba, congratulating the entire Oworonshoki Kingdom on the selection of the new Oba and urging the people to unite behind him in order to achieve peace, prosperity, and rapid progress.
The Ooni expressed his happiness that the individual who made that relationship possible is now king, noting that he had a professional relationship with Oworonshoki for about 20 years.
With the installation of Oba Saliu, Sanwo-Olu, through his Special Adviser on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Bolaji Robert, guaranteed the citizens of Oworonshoki of additional democratic dividends in the form of human capacity development and infrastructural development.
“I assure you that this administration will continue to accord this community like all others the attention you deserve in terms of infrastructure, economic empowerment, human capital development and security,” he said.
Oba Babatunde Saliu thanked the dignitaries for taking the time to honor him in his keynote speech. Additionally, he expressed his sincere appreciation for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s significant contribution to his success story.
He thanked Sanwo-Olu for commencing rehabilitation works on four roads in the community, which he said is home to over one million people, even as he said, “we are still appealing for more infrastructural projects to ensure more developments in the community.”
The new monarch was formerly a member of the Lagos State Association of Council Vice Chairmen (LASACVC), and Omoba Olumuyiwa Sosanya, who served as Father of the Day, were among the other dignitaries in attendance.
