Oba Adekunle Makama Oyelude, the Olowu of Kuta, has urged the federal government to swiftly resolve the ongoing dispute between it and the Academic Staff Union of Universities, or ASUU.
When Olowu’s convoy collided with the National Association of Nigerian Students’ NANS barricade on the Lagos/Ibadan Expressway on Tuesday, protesting the ongoing crisis, he made the appeal.
The king vowed to raise the matter with the appropriate authorities when he spoke to the students and encouraged them to open the highway to ensure free flow of traffic.
However, he praised the students for paying attention to him and the security for preventing the nonviolent protest from turning violent.
