In Delta state’s Warri Southwest and Udu council areas, fighting between the Ogbe-Ijoh and Aladja villages over an ongoing boundary dispute has claimed the life of one person who has only been known as Ogulagha-Wei.
After an altercation about 4 am on Friday, another person is reportedly in critical condition.
The Delta State Government and the two Local Government Council authorities are currently exercising the disputed boundary’s demarcation, which is what prompted the repeated attacks.
In a statement, a part of the Ogbe-Ijoh people demanded the quick reconstruction of any buildings that were destroyed in the process and urged the Delta State Government to adhere to the legal demarcation.
The Nation learned that the deadline had passed Thursday night.
