….advocates increased women participation in politics, grassroot mobilisation
A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party in Kwara State, Honourable Marooph Bukoye Bintinlaye has applauded the party on its ‘Kwara South Women Polling Booth Committee’ project as well as donated a sum of #150,000 Naira to the cause.
This disclosure was made by his Media Aide on Saturday.
According to Bintinlaye, the strategy will go a long way to make women familiar with electioneering, also serves as a boost for the party’s victory in the 2023 general elections.
He urged women to get involved in politics and train for positions of leadership in the nation.
Bintinlaye advised women – both young and old – to get involved in their communities fully and encouraged voters to cast ballots in the general elections of 2023.
He said Kwara South Women Polling Booth Committee’s goal is to develop a generation of women who would encourage others to vote and participate in elections in the state.
He said, “the Kwara PDP is steadfast in its determination to canvass and organize support from all quarters for the triumph of our great party. Transparency, accountability, safety, and the integrity of democracy would all be aided by the establishment of Kwara South Women Polling Booth Committee in Kwara South senatorial district. This is the sole means to get direct reports directly from the grassroots.
“From the national to state, to local government and the ward level, there is an urgent need to vow unwavering support and commitment to the party. I recognize the significance and the effort put out by those who bring this to light.”
Honorable Bukoye Bintinlaye pointed out that canvassing for support will enable them to inspire their peers to vote peacefully, as well as claims that the purpose of the COT is to develop young political leaders and civic activists, particularly during the pre-election period leading up to the general elections.
Bintinlaye thereafter geared Kwara South to work more in their efforts to restore Kwara PDP to power in the upcoming elections.
