Following the collapse of Ilawe-Ado-Ekiti road, commuters and other road users are now struggling to cope with the attendant effects.
The road which caved in after a heavy downpour between Ilawe and Odo Village has led to traffic chaos as motorists and residents had to face difficult situations navigating.
The Alawe of Ilawe-Ado-Ekiti, Oba Adebanji Ajibade Alabi who visited the spot on Wednesday called for calm and called for immediate Intervention by appropriate authorities.
As a result of this, traffic has been diverted from Ado-Ekiti to Iyin to Igede and Ilawe or Ado-Ekiti-Ikere-Ekiti to Akure.
Others that have visited the spot include the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Works, Mr. Komolafe, officials of Federal Road Safety Corps and community leaders in the area.
Observers believe that the road witnessed landslide as result of erosion from nearby rocks that had penetrated the underground coupled with heavy vehicular traffic in the area in recent times.
