The Management of The Polytechnic Ojoku has on Thursday, 4th of August, hosted a one-day workshop on National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) accreditation processes and lecturers’ delivery techniques.
The moderator, head of the PR Unit, Hammed J. Sulaiman, recognised the presence of the guest speakers, and the entire management. The Rector, Mr. Salaudeen OYEWALE during his welcome speech, appreciated the presence of guest speakers and also revealed that “the workshop will increase the expertise of each staff of the institution.”
The workshop started around 10am and was hosted in the institution’s conference room. The guest speakers were Engr. Dr. Oluwafemi KEHINDE, Department of Elect-Elect; Miss Zainab SULEIMAN, PR Strategist and Social Media Manager; and Dr. Arowoshegbe AJAYI, Director of Academic Planning (Federal Polytechnic Offa).
The workshop spotlighted areas of improvement and purported to add to the strength of the management of The Polytechnic Ojoku.
The first speaker, Dr. Arowoshegbe AJAYI, while speaking on his designated sub-themes, took the management on tour about the accreditation processes. He also talked about the types of accreditation and hammered on issues surrounding each. Dr. Arowoshegbe also provided a roadmap on the expectation of lecturers and technologists.
The second speaker, Engr. Dr. Oluwafemi KEHINDE, performed surgery on his sub-theme – “Curriculum Delivery on Practical, SIWES, and IT”. He dissected his topic to the understanding of the entire staff while citing examples of case studies. His presentation was embraced with questions as the first speaker’s.
While Miss Zainab SULEIMAN, as the third speaker, spoke thoroughly on her sub-theme – “Social Interaction Between Staff and Students”. Throughout her presentation, she cited real-life experiences and factual cases. Her presentation was also graced with questions and comments.
According to the Management, the workshop will benefit not only the staff but also the students inclusive and also will shower in more ideas of the entire staff. The workshop was facilitated by Mr. Bello Idris, the Director of Work of the institution, and was hosted by the Rector.
The closing remarks were done by the Ag. Registrar, Mr. Abdulsalam Olaide as the workshop ended with refreshments, group pictures, networking, and sharing of ideas.
