A secondary school student (name withheld) in Offa, Kwara State has hanged himself because of poor academic results, on Tuesday.
According to Offa TV, the young man who was a minor School had been warned by his mother not to return home if he fails.
“He committed suicide because of his end of the term result. He is repeating the same class. And the mother has been accused of threatening him not to come home if he fails.
” The school gave them their result today, seeing he is repeating class and also remembering the mother’s warnings, he might thought suicide was the only option.
“When returning from the school he told his sister he will kill himself, and he did so.”
According to another report, the remains of the young man has been taken down from the tree by his mother and taken away from the scene at Ariya area.
“When the mother came, nobody was able to untie him, the mother had to climb the tree herself and untied the robe.
“The police had come and carry the remains to the police station, as well as the mother,” Mass Communication TV wrote.
