Concerned Youths, an activist group, has thrown its weight behind the appointment of CSP Omoyele I. Adekunle as Chief Security Officer (CSO) of the Osun State Governor-Elect, Senator Ademola Adeleke.
It also warned ‘some paid protesters’ to desist from using the youth movement to threaten the newly elected governor.
They carried placards with different inscriptions such as “say not to paid protesters”, “Osun Youths agenda must stand”, “say no to thuggery”, “YOUTH VOICE MOVEMENT END Sars, Our Economy must be RESTORED”, “Say no to bad government” among others.
Speaking at the protest held in Osogbo on Thursday, Comrade Adebisi Emmanuel, “we are here today to speak against paid protesters who stayed under our umbrella to threaten the newly elected governor.
“They are hiding behind the umbrella of Osun youths. We learned some days ago that they want to come out and protest against the wish of the IGP for detailing CSP Omoyele I. Adekunle as the new Chief Security Officer of the Governor-elect in Osun State. What they based their threat on is a fallacy.
“We are telling them not to attach EndSARS with whatever they are doing because we are not with them. They are state sympathizers. They should not include us in their political agenda. They should not in their paid protests.
“Whatever they have with the CSP Omoyele they can sort it out. They know this police officer has been curbing crimes since they posted him to this state.”
He commended the Inspector General of Police on the arrest of the notorious suspected cultist, Rasidi Oko-Ilu and charged the security operatives to also arrest the Chairman of the Osogbo branch of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Kazeem Oyewale (Asiri Eniba).
“We are also calling on the IGP not to relent on his efforts to get all the criminals terrorising the state. Including Asiri Eniba.
“Because the video that went viral indicted Asiri Eniba. Oko-Ilu was saying publicly that he kills faster than cancer, that he loves to kill, that he derives joy in killing people. And he was telling people that he works with Asiri Eniba.
“We want the arm of the law to be long enough to catch all those who are terrorising the state.”
