Thursday was another worthwhile experience with Professor Wale Sulaiman whom I unapologetically referred to as “A PHILOSOPHER KING”. The technocrat per excellent attended the media parley organized by the Association of Kwara Online Media Practitioners (ASKOMP) in the state capital.

The Media gathering was enthused by listening to constructive questions, ideas, and answers that can practically transform Kwara South into El Dorado if implemented.

Prof. Sulaiman is a lover of humanity and his endless love for Nigeria led to his return from the United States in 2010 to Nigeria to develop Neurosurgery Health centers in four to five States in Nigeria. He provides free medical support for vulnerable citizens battling health issues. Consequentially, his departure to Nigeria attracted a huge deduction of 25% from his annual income in a bid to serve humanity in his homeland – Nigeria.

As a professor of neurosurgery armed with commendable, sophisticated healthcare management experience, he was appointed as the first Special Adviser on Health Matters to the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdul-Rahman Abdul-Razaq. After serving meritoriously with unquestionable integrity, he resigned while presenting 120 pages of a well-researched blueprint focused on 5 years Kwara Healthcare Masterplan.

Little wonder why Kwara State was rated as one of the most proactive states in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic in Nigeria during the time he was the SA Health Matters to GAA. He left a footprint on the sand of time through his enormous achievements and breakthrough in the Kwara State health sector which cannot be compared with the past achievements recorded in the health sector of the state.

Prof. Sulaiman is not an accidental senatorial candidate of Kwara South, he has practically researched the need of the people from the grassroot of Kwara South before joining politics. He studies and understands the process of progressive governance. He believes that his capacity will be limited as an individual who has contributed to the development of his people, hence, he deems it fit to participate in the political affairs of Kwara South as a Senator come 2023.

He is one of the chosen few bestowed with an encyclopedic mind of ‘how’ to solve ‘what’ which is one of the traits many Nigerian politicians lack.

Professor Sulaiman is the chosen one and Kwara South needs to tap into the potential of the man who chooses human interests over selfish interests. Indeed a complete departure from Nigerian conventional politicians.

God Bless Kwara State…
