Labour Unions in Osun State today joined their Counterparts across the Country, to Protest the Inability of the Federal Government to end the Lingering Industrial Action Embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, the hike in price of Premium Motor spirit PMS, Insecurity, among others.
It would be recalled that the Labour Unions, comprising the he Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, the Trade Union Congress, TUC as well Civil Society Organizations, had earlier announced their resolve to embark upon the Solidarity Protest aimed at pressing home their Demands for a Better a Nigeria.

Report indicates that the Labour Leaders were singing solidarity songs, carrying Placards with different inscriptions, such as “END ASUU STRIKE NOW!”, ” OUR CHILDREN DESERVE BETTER EDUCATION, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, OPEN OUR UNIVERSITIES NOW, LECTURERS ARE NOT SLAVES, among others.

ASUU has embarked on an indefinite strike since February, following Federal government’s failure to honour the agreement it had with the Union since 2009 which bothers on the welfare of its members and funding of University.
