Governor Adegboyega Oyetola met with members and supporters of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, today, just a week after the Osun 2022 governorship election.
The APC remains the party in power in the State, thus Governor Oyetola urged party members and supporters not to let discontent or division stem from the election’s results.
From the ward to the local government to the state, he promoted harmony and peace among party officials and members at all levels. In the sake of the party, the governor also urged party members to cease airing their issues on social media and direct them to the proper channels.
He noted as Governor of Osun, he will continue to govern with fear of God and love of the people, just as he reiterated his commitment to the well-being of the people and development of the State.
Governor Adegboyega Oyetola also met with the heads of the security agencies this afternoon in Osun. They discussed the state’s security situation, including the incident last Sunday in which some hoodlums and political thugs took control of some areas of the state and started to harass, threaten, and assault defenseless citizens.
With the assurance that the government will continue to give the required assistance, Governor Oyetola instructed the security chiefs to uphold peace and order in the State.
The State Commissioner of Police responded on behalf of the service commanders and pledged to make sure security personnel live up to expectations.
Recall, the Osun gubernatorial election was held on July 16th, 2022 where Senator Ademola Adeleke was declared winner of the election with over twenty eight thousands votes to defeat the incumbent governor, Gboyega Oyetola.
He reaffirmed his dedication to the welfare of the populace and the advancement of the State, saying that as governor of Osun, he would continue to lead with reverence for God and love for the people.
Remember that on July 16, 2022, there was a gubernatorial election in Osun, and Senator Ademola Adeleke defeated incumbent Governor Gboyega Oyetola and was declared the winner with over 28,000 votes.
