This years makes it 6 decades and two years of the Nigeria independence, yet the narrative is same or – if I’m to rightly put it – worse. “Former government/administration was not as bad as this” has been our usual chorus from time immemorial. And in our avid search for a messiah, we brought upon ourselves a disaster – a refurbished retired and tired war general.
The result of our decision is written all over. We hail amidst wailing. The country is engulfed in our wailings beyond the religious Wailing Wall. But it gladden that insecurity, inflation, poverty et al are blind to tribe, religion or geopolitical zone. Should we also forget the decisions of past generations in electing/selecting leaders is the foundation of our problems and in contribution are those we ignorantly made?
Here again is another opportunity for us to decide and make a choice, before we do, let’s ask who among the candidates is the best for Nigerian and Nigerians.
The septuagenarian who was once adrug lord as alleged and with questionable source (s) of wealth, corrupt, arrogant, power drunk and desperate. He believes that the livelihood of over 200 million Nigerians should be given to him as a thank you souvenir for being a major player in the emergence of the present calamity called governance. His praise singers are ethnic bigots chanting “Yoruba Ronu (Yorùbá think)” to emotionally blackmail the Yorùbás that are mentally aware of the evil that will befall us should he emerge president.
Yorùbá Ronú wasn’t their chorus when Yorùbá children were massacred in a Yorùbá land (20/10/2020), a Yorùbá right activist house was raided and scores killed while he exiled, when a Yorùbá leader’s daughter was killed by the government boys and their god’s anointed and more. Their Yorùbá thinking faculty must have been presumed faulty then, I think.
Another septuagenarian that resides in Dubai and comes home every election year to contest. Never shared in the people’s gory experience, criticise or condemn bad government policy, publicly identified with the religious extremist by deleting a condemnation post of unlawful assassination of Deborah (of blessed memory), second in command of the government that gave us darkness with $16billion, power hungry and also a major contributor to the emergence of the present failure. His follower and that of the former are currently debating the worst among them, the most corrupt may be.
And the new saint. The man that turned the state he earlier governed to an “imaginary DUBAI”. The man of percentage and comparison, would-be professor of statistics, Go and Verify. He left His primary caucus when he couldn’t meet the match of his leaders in spending on assignment to a vacant and also states that all thieves are forgiven even before his emergence: We should better choose not to be doomed. “He hardly eat, has a wristwatch, low life and stingy” as asserted by his followers. His followers are toxic, touch not my anointed kind of people, ethnic extremist and believe we should allow and dash him the seat of power because He’s Igbo not a Nigerian. Criticism is not allowed, they reminded us of Buharists of 2015 but we obediently choose not to mind them, we are verifying.
And here again is a man who have committed over three decades of his life to a cause: FIGHTING INHUMANITY TO MAN. A resilient fighter, consistent and persistent individual. He has always been on the side of people, speaks truth to power not minding whose ox is gored. He was persecuted and restricted to a place on trumped up charges still remain undeterred. He left his place of convenience to awaken the spirit of Nigerian youths in challenging the status quo and getting read of political apathy. His integrity severally established, continuously clamouring for the need of a working nation, Identified the challenges facing us as a country with working solutions, SPICERHEAT manifestoes and currently heading a political party identified with the masses. His followers are not bothered not disturbed as all and sundry are permitted to question and criticise him.
His presentations are intellectual-based arguments with facts. An opportunity we shouldn’t miss is a SOWORE PRESIDENCY.
Dear compatriots, remember you are the structure and to salvage this sinking ship is your worthy decision. ARISE!!!
