Ademola Adeleke, the uncle of artist Davido, has been named the victor of the just completed gubernatorial election in Osun State by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Senator Adeleke, the Peoples Democratic Party’s nominee, received 402,979 votes overall after taking 17 of the state’s 30 local government units.
With a total of 375,077 votes, Gboyega Oyetola, the current governor and APC flag bearer, won the remaining 13 local government areas.
With 4,508 votes, the Accord Party finished third, ahead of the Labour Party (2,729 votes), the African Action Congress (2,141 votes), and the Social Democratic Party (515 votes).
