Kwara State Governor, Abulrahman Abdulrazak has been said to have taken people out of politicians’ house in a bid to seek for financial help.
Speaking in a current affairs programme on Okin FM on Saturday, Offa, Kwara State, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mallam Rafiu Ajakaye said Abdurahman has been able to do this by creation of economic-viable in the last three years of his administration.
According to Ajakaye, “in every area, when you look at social economic development, that is social investment, the administration has also ensure that we spend a big percentage of social resources to ensure that we save our people from dejection. We save our people from mass poverty.
“Several people, several thousands of people have benefitted from Owo Isowo, we have tens of thousands of people benefitting from Owo Arugbo across the state. That is to ensure that our people who do not have anyone to take care of them, the government is putting money in their pocket every other month to ensure their needs are met, instead of waiting in the house of any politician. Kwara has never had something like that. This is the first time any administration is putting that in place.”
Ajakaye also said the Governor Abulrahman Abdulrazak has been able to touch every sector in the state.
Reacting to the resumption of Oyun Baptist High School, Ijagbo after the hijab crisis that forced the school to be closed, Ajakaye said “there is no alternative to peace.No matter our differences to issues, the most important thing is that we need to come together and relate as brothers.
“First and foremost we are human beings and we are members of the same community we have been like that for decades. We should not let anything come between us.
“So far so good, we have been very appreciative that the people have been so corporative, the Muslims and the Christians alike. We will continue to appreciate them for that and we will continue to urge all the stakeholders not to allow anything to come between us.”
