A social critic, activist and writer Idowu Abdullahi Ayobami has unveiled a non-profit organization called ‘Participate Now’.
While speaking with newsmen on Wednesday, Ayobami said Participation Now was born out of his campaign to all on the need to awaken the sleeping giant in self.
According to him, except that the amount of greatness inherent in human is numberable or measurable, would anyone conclude that greatness is stereotypical.
He said, “we are all greatness potentials as it is our birth’s right. What if all it takes to harness our ultimate opportunities is not to wait till others do it? What if it all requires to be great is to *Participate Now* in the making of the world we live?
“Participate Now is the core avenue and a nongovernmental platform sanctioned with the sole aim of bringing out the best in everyone, giving them the consciousness of self esteem and make everyone a possibility of positivity through self awareness.
“Perhaps, you are inflated with the best of ideas on how to make the country work, make life more bearable or helping humanity solve her many problems, but you think you’re lacking the voice. We dare you to *Participate Now* and join/meet others who are being stirred and geared towards action and not wishes.
“Robert Swan has defined the human plague that ‘the greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it.’ ”
“Participate Now is a slogan, theme and subject of hope, courage and enthusiasm to wake the sleeping giants in us towards harnessing the potentials from within us and making things happen.
“If you don’t Participate Now, who will?
“Our major aim is hinged towards proclaiming humanity first, the core value of our existence. We believe that it is everybody’s right to Participate Now in the making and amending of the wreckages already done to humanity through the affairs of Man.”Ayobami said
We, thus, understand that, none but we are the government and the greatest power lies with our coming together to foster the spirit of unity which is the only way we can change or solve the fate of our political, social and economic crisis as they plague us today.
He said Participate Now as a project understands that the greatest power lies with coming together of people to foster the spirit of unity which he described as the only way to change or solve the fate of the political, social and economic crisis “they plague us today.”
Ayobami subsequently said the Participate Now as an NGO looks forward to creating a global team with the people of the world, unbridled and unrestricted by class or status in order to participate in the affairs of the world at large.
