Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara state has been accused of plunging the state into more debts despite the fact that he has “no physical development he can show” for it.
This was stated by the People’s Democratic Party, PDP Chairman in Offa local government area of Kwara, Honourable Jide Jatto, on Saturday.
“I’m very sure and In Sha Allah, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq is gone. He has no physical development he can show.
“8 years of former Governors Bukola Saraki and Fatah Ahmed, the external loan was 35 Billion, 3 years of Abdulrahman it rose to 104 Billion. It rose from 35 to 104 Billion.” he said.
Jatto also predicted that the Kwara Central’s votes would be divided in the coming elections.
“The number of candidates contesting in Kwara Central is more than anywhere else in the state, so it means they will have divided vote.
“Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Oba Abu, Gobir (Alaanu Mekunu), Gambari and others from the zone are contesting. They have 6-7 gubernatorial candidates in the same Kwara South. They are called ‘Kwara Central Mighty’ due to vote strength but they will have divided votes.”
Daily Post had, on March 30, 2022, reported that Kwara State Government has denied borrowing N93bn over the last three years as alleged by Hon. Saheed Popoola, a member of the state House of Assembly from Ojomu/Balogun constituent in Offa Local Government Area of the state and described it “false and totally out of line.”
Also, Governor AbdulRahman has said stated that he inherited N100b debt and not N30b as the opposition claims.
Jatto afterwards charged Nigerians to go beyond ethnicity in the choice of their candidates come 2023 general elections.
