In the Osun political landscape of today, the name, Oluomo Sunday Akere is no doubt, a force to reckon with, he knows the terrain in and out irrespective of party, religious or ethnic leaning, one can simply conclude that Oluomo Akere breaths Osun politics.
The Oluomo of Igbajo land is peaceful, he is humility personified and humorous his disposition in and outside politics.
Recent scientific studies suggest that leadership is 30% genetic and 70% learned. This position best suits the person of Oluomo Sunday Akere especially when viewed against his political sojourn.
Decades ago, he successfully carved a niche for himself while he served as the Spokesman of the main opposition party in Osun, Action Congress (AC) which later metamorphosed into the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and later into the All Progressives Congress (APC) which it is till date.
Akere also served as Commissioner for Information and Strategy in the State under Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, a season which was reputed for a robust relationship between all members of the fourth estate of the realm and the government in Osun.
Mr. Akere connected with journalists, he was accessible and constantly on top of his game when it comes to handling media related issues.
His names still resonates as the most performed information manager in Osun having served between 2010 and 2014.
His innovative methods of making and managing the image of the progressive Governments is worthy of a PhD thesis if it were to be in the academic Community, Akere’s politics is pure and real, in other words, his politics is way beyond politics of animosity.

He is loyal, resolute, consistent, committed, brave and stradfast.

No wonder, the Osun State All Progressives Congress (APC), ahead of the July 16 Governorship election, appointed him Special Adviser on political matter.
