History is the chronological and sequential study of the past to understand the present and anticipate the future.
But when history as a course gets scraped in the approved educational curriculum for the young generation. It becomes far easier to swap the content of a wine jar without an outcry from the blind masses, making electoral office, a family heirloom to be inherited through an equally inept democratic enabling system that widens the gap between the governed and the governor through strategic crippling policy and mass poverty enabling circumstances well within the control of the ruling classes.
An average Nigerian is far more knowledgeable and in-depth informed on the history of foreign Religion wars, sites, and happenings than the cause and after effect of the civil war that happens in Nigeria.
The pregnant #Endsars protest was a revolutionary hit that might have changed the narration of how Nigeria is being ganged ruled by the not too visionary elders that inherit a working automobile but are hell bent on exchanging it for a bicycle because it appeals more to their primitive understanding.
It is unfortunate, that the circumstances surrounding the eventual termination of the pregnant #Endsars protest that was already forming the flag of not too young to rule. A card displayed too soon that recent happenings in the political sphere corroborate.
In Oyo, son of the late former governor Abiola Ajimobi (Idris Abiola-Ajimobi) won Ibadan South-West II State Constituency ticket.
In Delta, daughter of James Ibori, (Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu) won Ethiope Federal Constituency ticket.
In Ekiti, the son of former Governor Ayo Fayose (Oluwajomiloju “Joju” Fayose) won the ticket for Ekiti Central Federal Constituency 1, comprising Ado and Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government under the PDP.
Also in Delta, Governor Patrick Okowa’s daughter (Mrs. Marilyn Okowa-Daramola) won Ika North East tickets.
In Kwara, the former governor of Kwara State Mohammed Lawal (Hakeem Oladimeji Lawal) won the SDP governorship ticket.
In Kano, Late Sani Abacha’s son (Muhammad Sani Abacha) won the PDP governorship ticket.
In Jigawa, former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido (Alhaji Mustapha Sule Lamido) won the PDP governorship ticket.
There are others but to mention a few.
If this is not convincing enough, of old wine in a creatively new jar. The price tag nomination forms are being pegged with is enough a deterrent to any Aluta hungry masses clamoring for a passionate change to check his pocket and tuck his tail between his legs and turn around from such venture.
In a wrap, no son of nobody can hold a political post in the structure of change. But to calm the mass down, the old wine are finding themselves jars that appeal to our desire in a game of shameless delegation and baton exchange.
