Busari Omotola Adeyinka is a multifarious brand identity designer, a web entrepreneur, and a content creator, known for the Tolagrafik brand. He was born on the 19th of May in Ejioku, the strife-free town of Ọyọ State, Nigeria. He is an aesthete as well as a literarian.
Tola’s passion for art stems from a rich early life, when he was fascinated by his reminiscences, such as moonlight folktales and visual arts that took place in his environment. Having been born in a dreamy town, he drew his rudimental inspiration from his prenatal surrounding as well as the innate expertise from his father, who is also an exemplary artist.
He was fortunate to have a father who dreamed of beautiful things and delineated them on canvas, and he was also lucky to see him drawing with pencils in the living room most of the time. With such a strong paternal bond and the fact that his father is an art lover, in kindergarten, he began to test his pencil hand to figure out how to draw certain objects and how to draw his friends realistically. Many people were impressed by his dexterity, and there were indications of who he would become.
Tola began his artistic adventure earlier than expected, at the age of seven, when he used his imaginative interest in nature to subjectify things he saw into captivating drawings and added art to the entirety of what he learned. Tola like many other juveniles, needed the educational influence to ascertain his dream, so he started this journey when he enrolled in Funmisọ Nursery School, and that was where he graduated with an elementary school certificate. Later on, he proceeded to St. Anthony Primary School, the same in Ejioku; then, Community Grammar School, Lalupọn, in Ibadan. During those times, he didn’t let his passion for art consign him to oblivion.
In 2007, Tola moved to Ogbomọsọ in Ọyọ State to master his design skills before tertiary enrollment and subsequently devoted himself to graphic design under the guiding hands of Mr. Ọladipupọ. Then, he discovered the best approach to connecting his sketches and artwork, so he modified them into a logo and brand identity, which he has successfully implemented.
In 2008, Tola gained admission to Ọsun State Polytechnic, Iree to study Computer Engineering, despite his desire to study Fine and Applied Arts, or Architectural Design at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomọsọ but wasn’t given admission. However, his ardour for graphics and art grew even stronger with such an impediment. During his time in school, he used his graphic knowledge, to broaden his horizons and make his ambition relevant. He also did some menial computer jobs for small organizations. As a result, he became more proficient.
After obtaining a National Diploma in 2011, Tọla completed his industrial training, then worked as a graphic artist in Ikire before relocating to Lagos to work as a graphic operator. While in Lagos, he worked assiduously to enhance his skills and also to be versatile in a variety of tasks.
Tola officially began his graphic design career at RedArk Media Lagos in 2013, where he was recruited as a graphic artist. He worked at RedArk Media for two years before he resigned in 2015 for some considerable reasons, which do not pertain monetary discontent.
After leaving RedArk Media, Tola began freelance entrepreneurship for companies, where he oversees initiatives for foreign and domestic brands. This greatly helped him in terms of exposure to new cognitions, and it also provided an opportunity for him to make the most of his time.
His resignation also prompted him to return to school, which resulted in him earning a Higher National Diploma in 2019. It has also given him time to establish a creative studio, Tola Studios, where he sublimely manages most of the branding projects, logos, and web designs, trains other prospective graphic artists, and toils at different services.
Tola is the creator of Adire textile art—Adire By RADE, a company that develops Adire variegated fabrics. As a web entrepreneur, he is the owner of Hub201 Media and the initiator of Odoori Market, an e-trade platform that aims to make trade and business accessible for Africans far and wide. He is one of the pioneers of Creative Hangout, a community of designers, creative legends, techies, and art connoisseurs.
Tola is also a political enthusiast and a humanitarian.
He has received the Rotaract Humanitarian Service Award in Ọsun State, as well as the NGD (Naija Graphic Designers) Community Award of Excellence, 2021, and a number of other honors.
