A 31-year-old man identified as Ademola Kola has been arrested by the operatives of Western Nigeria Security Network Agency, Amotekun Osun for motorcycle robbery.
Kola is said to have been an hardened motorcycle thief under the pretext of being mentally challenged.
This was disclosed by the Amotekun Field Commandant, Comrade Amitolu Shittu during a press briefing in Osogbo, on Wednesday.
Speaking during the briefing, Comrade Amitolu said “Ademola was apprehended along Ila Orangun Ikirun Road while escaping with the motorcycle that he has stolen from Ila.
“The said Okada was stolen at the residence of one Tunde living around Oke Ogun Ila.
“The suspect claimed that he want to visit his relative at Egbeda Village around Owode Ede Osun State. Investigations further revealed that Ademola kola who always pretend to be insane while committing the act.
“Our investigation also revealed that he has done it in the past while he stole motorcycle from Ibadan and sold it at Ila and from Ila to Ibadan.
“The neighbours who pleaded anonymous said the suspect has been involving in other stealing and robbery of houses in Ila and its environs.” Amitolu disclosed.
In the same vein, the Amotekun Osun Command apprehended one Adetunji Adeolu, 25years old man from Ogbaagba in the state for motorcycle theft.
Amitolu said the suspect was arrested with one motorcycle he stole at Iwo and was ready to dispose it while luck ran against him.
He said the suspect took to his heels upon sighting Amotekun operatives and was subsequently arrested in Okinni, Egedore Local Government.
Adetunji who claimed to be a tailor and Npower beneficiary however denied stealing the said motorcycle.
