A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party in Kwara State, Honourable Marooph Bukoye Bintinlaye has sent a message of congratulations to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar on his victory as the Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 general election.

Honourable Bintinlaye also commended the former Senate President and Kwara State Governor, Dr. Bukola Saraki CON for exibiting the good spirit of sportsmanship.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by Honourable Bukoye Marooph Bintinlaye Media (HMBM) on Saturday, May 29, 2022.

It partly reads, “I congratulate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar (GCON) on his victory as the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate in the just concluded primaries.

“I must sincerely commend the PDP 2022 Special Convention Committee for doing a great job.

“Furthermore, I appreciate our leader and mentor, Dr. Bukola Saraki for deprive politics of enmities, rivalries, bitterness and other related matters associated with politics.

“Dr. Saraki has once again proved himself a great and foresight one.

“As the election season progresses, I urge the PDP presidential candidate and all political actors, regardless of party affiliation, to make this election season one free of hatred, rancour, and discord.

“Our campaigns should be peaceful and issue-based. The election season should be a festival of ideas aimed at bettering our country and the lives of all of its citizens.

“The hotly disputed process of selecting aflagbearer for our great party has once again demonstrated that the PDP is a party that has enshrined a transparent internal democratic process, which our nation sorely requires for its long-awaited rebirth.

“The beauty of it all is that the party has demonstrated its maturity, strength, and poise, and now is the time for all hopefuls and other party stakeholders to band together to choose hope as we embark on this critical mission to save Nigeria.” he said.

Honourable Marooph Bintinlaye also praised other candidates who participated in a transparent democratic process, praising the PDP for setting a good example for all other political parties in the country.

On Saturday, former Vice president Atiku Abubakar was elected as the PDP candidate in the party’s primary held at the Velodrome of the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja, where hundreds of delegates voted for the candidates of their choice.
